CPR
I know that as CPR instructors, my fellow instructors and I are glad that we have never had to perform CPR on a real person. Today was the first time I heard someone else talk about performing CPR on a real person as a bragging right/superiority definition. I’m not sure what to think of that.

Yea it’s the “end” of a decade of terror (we all know that it’s not) and yea that’s nice and dandy
but at the same time…
I would rather watch Obama trump the donald again than hear about the death of a person
it’s a happier thing to watch in life really.

Responsibility
I’ve realized that “responsibility” is a word that people don’t really think about that much.
There are so many things to be responsible for: homework, school, other people, animals, yourself.
The main one I’m thinking about right now is the responsibility of animals. Yes, they are not humans, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve the same respect and care.
We take extra precaution to make sure we fulfill the responsibilities to ourselves…but how about the responsibilities of others?
If you take in an animal, whether it’s big like a dog or small like a rat, we take on the responsibility of taking care of them. If you cannot be responsible for them and treat them the way they should be treated, don’t take them in. Simple as that.
Just because it’s small like a hamster doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to go to the vet. Just saying.
I took in two birds I caught in junior high. I did not know responsibility then. I just though…oh…animals! Cute! I want!
One died of thirst, one died of hunger.
I think that was when I realized what responsibility is and what it means not only to myself, but also to others.
If you really think about it, when we take on the responsibility of others, their life depends on you.
Like my birds. They died because of me and it was the biggest regret of my life. They were fine in the wild. They didn’t need me. I essentially took away their freedom and slowly tortured them to death.
We need to be responsible, because no one can predict the consequences of their actions.
